The teeth, which are very important for a healthy life, are lost for many reasons. While tooth caries can occur as a result of failure to pay attention to cleanliness, tooth loss happens due to accidents or other reasons. Dental prosthesis, which is popularly known as denture or removable tooth, is the most preferred treatment among dental treatments, owing to a wide range of options, as removable or fixed dentures.

What is a Dental Prosthesis? When is it applied?

They are artificial teeth are used partially or fully in the absence of one or more teeth. It involves use of fixed or removable dentures to restore the tooth losses caused by caries fractures or losses in the teeth which directly affect the quality of life from oral health, to aesthetics to speech.

Fixed prostheses are sealed in the mouth. It is very comfortable to use compared to removable dentures. Fixed prostheses cannot be removed on demand. The most obvious problem with removable prostheses is that they tend to come out while talking or coughing. Removable prostheses prepared for elderly patients who have lost their teeth completely may affect some patients psychologically.

Metal-assisted porcelain is a classical porcelain veneer method used to correct excessive tooth loss or aesthetically impaired teeth.
